Collection: September Birthstone

September has two beautiful blue birthstones — sapphire, the traditional gem of the month and one of only three historically classified as "precious," and lapis lazuli, the alternate, prized for its stunning color for more than 6,000 years.

The sapphire in this collection is unheated, which is challenging to source. Most sapphires on the market have been heat-treated to enhance their color. Not these. The lapis is untreated as well, with its signature golden flecks of pyrite and bits of white calcite.
