This is me, and what I make

As a lifelong lover of fine art, my passion for brilliant color is on view in the paintings on my walls. Even more so in the jewelry that I design!

And I understand how the right earrings, necklaces or bracelets are a matter of mood as much as occasion, enhancing our confidence in who we are and how we're feeling.

My desire – that whatever mood you may be in, you feel like your best, most beautiful (most mischievous?) self in Modern Whimsy Jewelry.

My inspiration

I take my inspiration from a passion for modern art – as an admirer, a collector, and a former art journalist. I’m especially drawn to the beautiful blues of Henri Matisse, the color field explorations of Helen Frankenthaler and Mark Rothko, and the bold black brushstrokes of Franz Kline.

When I look at colored gemstones, I see Mother Nature’s tiny works of art. I see the colors and forms of my favorite paintings. And I experience the pleasure of connecting that art to the gemstones that enchant me.

While that may be my inspiration, Modern Whimsy Jewelry is really about you – and the pleasure you feel when you pick up your favorite pieces and delight in wearing them.
