Ruby Tyre and Pearl Drop Earrings, 14K Gold Fill

Two large "tyres" sit stacked above a 14K gold-filled link, with a 7-8mm rice pearl dangling below. A tyre-cut ruby is something you don't see every day. The cut is exactly what it sounds like — a wide wheel shape, faceted around the edges, flat on top and bottom.

The stones themselves are substantial, roughly 8mm x 3mm, and with their soft pinkish raspberry color, a somewhat lighter hue than the deep reds you typically see.

Like all the rubies I work with, these are untreated. No heat, no enhancement. Just the color nature gave them — and in the ruby world, unheated stones are genuinely hard to find.
